About Swain:
It’s been almost six years since he’s been on the go in Budapest.
He jumped into electronic music in 1998. The techno and psy sounds swept over him like a fly on shit…but breaks and drum & bass also had an important aspect on his development. He then later derived solace from house. First he was crazy about the mesmerizing rhythms of progressive-house. He was eventually grabbed by the cosmic pull of some mixes from Palotai and Naga. These musical materials were not easy to get in those times, especially while he was residing in Székesfehérvár. He went through a colossal change of taste when, from week to week, heading home with a tired head, he entered ARC Café to have a drink and listen to Crimson’s sets. The music spun by Crimson was showing him the way – but Swain was still walking on the good old path of progressive house. ….
As time passed by, his taste in music have changed, he started to be interested in more mellow and unique sounds. ….
Moving to Budapest was fruitful – one of his mixes found it’s way on to the mix-series Deepcourse on Deephouse.hu. In these times he preferred underground clubs, getting down and dirty. Exhibitions, classical music concerts and lots of parties in Trafó were all part of the musical experience.
Three years ago he had the pleasure to meet Two-B-Music’s Steven M, who was blown away by Swain’s promo mix – one week later they were playing together. Their common subject-matter of exquisite underground house lead the way. During the summer of 2007 these two were spinning in Budapest’s Millenáris park every Saturday from the afternoon to midnight, receiving nothing nothing but positive feedback. ….
Swain had a revelation in May of 2007, when Frank Wiedemann, half of the duo Âme was standing behind the decks on a beautiful night. Another hit came in August – during a set presented by Dixon under the stars… everything changed, he knew he was looking for this sound, and he found it then. ….
His special taste - basically under appreciated in Hungary - appealed to the guys of Two-B-Music, since then his name is making a mark. From time to time he’s rocking the booth at parties and radio programs of Lick The Click!, Ablak-A-Dubra, Cökxpôn, Tilos, Justmusic.FM, Tripla, Artkatakomba, Mono, Merlin, Chachacha, Pántlika. ….
Swain’s music can send you to distant beautiful places, it is full with sensual and lovely sounds – no wonder since Swain is crazy for contemporary modern jazz too. This is what gives him relief, energy and spirituality from the „other side”. His taste can be best described as surreal underground house music dressed in our times’ soutane. ….
.. .. Have a pleasant journey!….
